The HOMEACROSS project, funded by the European Union, will center its research on the population exchange in Izmir and Atina following the 1923 Lausanne Convention, marking the first internationally ratified compulsory population exchange between Greece and Turkey. By focusing on these two provinces, which received significant numbers of refugees, the project aims to investigate the enduring material impacts of this historical event.
