Two international research initiatives involving a faculty member from our department have been awarded funding.
Two international research initiatives involving İzmir Institute of Technology have been selected for funding.
The RuralCOMMONS project, in which IZTECH is a partner, has been selected for funding by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe Programme – Cluster 2: Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society, within the framework of the HORIZON-CL2-2025-02-TWO-STAGE call. The project will be coordinated by the Integrative Research Institute on Transformations of Human-Environment Systems (IRI THESys) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and will bring together research institutions and stakeholders from Germany, Greece, Italy, Romania, Hungary, Ireland, Cyprus, and Türkiye.
The FutureLands: Feeding Future Generations by Empowering Community-Driven Agroecological Transitions COST Action network, involving researchers from IZTECH, has also been approved for funding under the framework of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST Association). The network is coordinated by IRI THESys at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and brings together researchers, practitioners, civil society organizations, and policy actors.
Our faculty member Prof. Dr. Hülya Yüceer is the IZTECH Project Coordinator of RuralCOMMONS and is also part of the IZTECH team of the FutureLands COST Action network. Researchers from the IZTECH Department of City and Regional Planning are also part of the IZTECH teams of both initiatives.
