Prof. Dr. Sayed Hemeda has joined our department.

Professor Sayed Hemeda obtained his PH.D in Civil Engineering Department, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.  He is the former head of the Architectural Conservation Department, Faculty of Archaeology, Cairo University, Egypt. He is the former Manager of Heritage Science Program and Centre, LACC, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST). He is the former Vice- Manager of Conservation Center of historic buildings and artifacts in Cairo University.

His research output includes 114 articles, 49 articles in Q1 journals indexed in Scopus and Clarivate, 37 international books published by Springer, Bentham, and IntechOpen. He is a highly ranked scholar, Professor Hemeda has been placed in the top 0.02% of researchers worldwide by ScholarGPS and is ranked #7 in archaeology globally.

He is an Editor of npj Heritage Science (nature).

He has been awarded the two prestigious Editor of Distinction Awards 2026 by @Springer Nature.
